2nd Shift Tooling Technician

SUMMARY OF POSITION:The main duties/activities are to complete maintenance, change over and occasional repairs to injection molding tools.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):•Performs injection mold preventative maintenance and insert changes in support of production with diligence and accuracy.•Maintains accurate log of preventative maintenance and insert changes.•Identifies tooling deficiencies during preventative maintenance and notify Tooling Lead.•Participates in root-cause analysis of tooling breakage and/or damage to assess corrective actions.•Ensures a clean, organized, and safe work environment always.•Leads creation, organization, and maintenance of TPI's, including work instructions, photo- documentation, historical logging, and revision control.•Participates and leads tool room organization, including mold spare components, standard components (fasteners, pins, buy-outs).•Identifies and elevates tools, equipment, and other infrastructure needs to the Tooling Lead.•Provides support to production operations (Molding, Special Ops, Production) as needed or directed by supervisor.RequirementsEDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:•High school education or GED•At least 2 years of related experience in tooling/manufacturing environment.•Experience with injection mold maintenance and repairs.•Solid understanding of the injection molding process.•Strong attention to detail and willing to listen and discuss in an open, positive manner.•Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.•Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited direct supervision.•Ability to work with quickly changing priorities and short deadlines.•Ability to successfully communicate with internal and external customers.•Provide exceptional support to internal customers (Molding, Production, Special Ops).PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
