Greenwich, CTMarcum LLP is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing and well-established national firm in our Greenwich, CT office. We are committed to practicing work/life balance and offer extremely competitive salary and benefit packages.Job DescriptionInteract closely with clients to provide innovative individual tax planning, consulting and compliance services in a timely and effective mannerSpecialization and experience in both high net worth and individual returns and flow through entity tax areasSupervise and help drive the success of multiple engagements.Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategiesProvide proper representation with taxing authorities for clients under federal or state examination. Possess strong writing skills for responding to problem resolutions for tax notices.Work closely with Partners, Directors and staff on client management, professional development and business development activitiesSupervise, develop, train and mentor staff including performance and engagement reviewsBe involved in practice development efforts of the firm.Provide on the job training to subordinatesAssist partners with preparation of engagement budgets, client billing and staff performance reviewsReview staff work product and ensure firm processes and quality control procedures are being executed.Must have outstanding work ethic, willing to roll up sleeves work attitude.Attend professional development and continuing educations sessions on a regular basis.QualificationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting degree required.Masters in Taxation degree or LLM in Taxation a plusCPA certification required with 5+ years public accounting tax experienceStrong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax researchProficient knowledge of CCH Axcess, Prosystems Fx and Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)Experience with Sureprep & GoFileroom a plusAbility to problem-solve and thinking both creatively logicallyAbility to grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and proceduresA demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlinesOutstanding leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationshipsExcellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.Effective listening skillsAbility to meet deadlines with accuracy.Experience in the individual/fiduciary tax areas is a plusAbility to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationshipAbility to articulately communicate professional technical knowledgeDecisively identify and execute solutions to problemsThorough understanding of complex tax issuesMust be able to work minimally three days a week in the office.#LI-RP1Marcum LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer
