JOB TITLE: COATING MACHINE OPERATOR
DEPARTMENT: MANUFACTURING
REPORTS TO: SHIFT SUPERVISOR
CLASSIFICATION: HOURLY
SUMMARY:
Provides the day-to-day operating and technical skills required to continually ensure that quality product is manufactured at a cost that is equal to or less than the standard cost
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Before shift begins, review coating schedule with employees from previous shift to discuss any machine or materials issuesReview production coating schedule for any special instructionsMonitor materials so that they are continually staged for next orderContinually review SOPs for production adherence and if issues/changes need to be considered especially Coating 101Assure a quality product is being produced at all timesEnsure all production entries are correctEnsure checklist and sign off sheets are completeManage material to reduce wasteAssist with personnel trainingCreate and foster a customer awareness, "can do" attitude with the other employeesMonitor team and ensure areas are neat and clean at all timesEnsure adherence to company policies and proceduresEnsure all activities are conducted safely and within safety guidelines/proceduresPerform other duties assigned by the Shift SupervisorQUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor degree a plusExhibit high level of professionalism and tact in fast paced environmentWork accurately under pressureAbility to multi-taskBasic experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word; ability to learn & use Acucote's computer systemsAbility to understand any and all safety requirements and cautionsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgroundsMust be able to speak, read, write, and understand English used in the workplacePHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work shiftVisual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directionAbility to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directionsAbility to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration in accordance with state labor lawsLift and carry up to and above 75 poundsCoordinate multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust exhibit very detailed informational accuracyHeavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objectsWORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing Environment (Hot in summer and cool in winter)Occasional weekend work may be required
