Focus of this position will assisting with quarterly and annual consolidated tax provisions, federal and state income tax compliance, estimated tax payments and special projects. In addition to managing our corporate sales and use tax, unclaimed property and personal property tax processes. Will have one direct report staff tax accountant.ResponsibilitiesAssistance related to quarterly and annual provisions and income tax compliance:Schedules supporting deferred tax balancesSchedules supporting tax rate computationsReconciling taxes payable accountTax footnote disclosuresCalculation of uncertain tax positionsPreparation of quarterly tax payments and extensionsState apportionment calculationsPreparation of federal and state income tax filingsPreparation of the charitable foundation returnMaintaining tax depreciation recordsStandalone provisions for our mortgage and insurance subsidiariesAircraft excise tax filings and imputed income calculationsResponding to notices from federal and state tax jurisdictionsAddressing follow up items for tax initiatives as provided by internal or outside tax firmsForecasting annual effective tax rateResponsibilities related sales and use tax, unclaimed property and property taxes:Manage the monthly or quarterly sales and use tax filing processPrepare and review annual property tax and unclaimed property filingsManage audits performed by taxing jurisdictionsImprove and streamline processesResearch and analyze sales and use tax laws to interpret how they apply to the company, prepare technical documentation to communicate tax issuesIdentify tax planning opportunitiesKeep current with tax law and regulation changes, research and prepare memoranda as necessary.Other duties as assignedRequirementsExperience: 7 to 10 years of experience in corporate tax or public accountingBachelors degree in finance and accounting, experience in tax preparation and compliance or equivalent work experience. Skills and working knowledge with I.R.C. Sec. 263A, 123R, depreciation, I.R.C. sec. 162(m) and tax credits. Excellent time management, organizational skills, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations. Experience with Microsoft Office.
