POSITION SUMMARY
The Licensed Vocational Nurse works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled care and observation to assigned patients for a designated period of time, in support of Marshall Medical Center's standard of practice. Maintains positive public relations by interacting with patients, visitors, physicians and other staff members in a friendly and professional manner. Ensures the safe handling of infectious material(s) to protect all patients and employees.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:Completion of a Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Program with a current California LVN License required.Current California IV certification for LVNsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years recent acute care LVN or related/equivalent experience is preferred.Ability to recognize normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms is preferred.Cardiac Telemetry experience is preferred for MS II positions.Skills:
Must have good communication skills and be able to organize and prioritize patient care tasks effectively.Must have the physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish duties of a LVN.Must meet Marshall Medical Center's pharmacology requirements.
