Summary
The Project Developer will provide project management assistance and task management supporting the development of renewable energy (wind and solar) projects from site identification through construction. This is a fast-paced and multi-faceted role facing multiple internal and external stakeholders and provides immediate exposure to commercial matters.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate activities through early to late-stage development which may include, but are not limited to, wind, solar, and storage projects.Establish and maintain relationships with potential and existing stakeholders, both internally and externallyCollaborate with Counsel to negotiate agreements with landowners and local officials.Review project layouts and data for accuracy and completeness.Monitor transmission and interconnection studies and updates as it relates to current and potential projects.Collaborate permitting efforts for local, state, and federal regulatory institutions.Manage vendor contracts, payments, and activities related to development projects.Review and provide recommendations for early to late-stage M&A prospects.Provide project information and assist with negotiations for upcoming RFPs.Manage and update project budgets, schedules, and quarterly plans.Coordinate with multiple departments and team members to ensure accuracy and timeliness of activities associated with projects.Provide project reports, presentations, updates, and information, as needed, to executive members.Participate in local community outreach events.Mentor and train new development team members.Other duties as assigned.Requirements
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
Required Experience
1 - 2 years of progressively responsible project management or development experience in energy or a related industry
Other Skills
Strong knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth software preferred.Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software with strong Excel skills.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.High attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.Ability to work productively with limited supervision.Strong interest in renewable energy.Ability and willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.Physical Requirements
The Project Developer may be required to endure the following physical activities, environmental conditions, and physical demands, such as:
Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods,Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another,Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions,Repeating motions that many include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, andMay need to climb terrain, drive vehicles, and/or walk long distances outdoors
