Hospital MedicineThe Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting full-time, experienced pediatric advanced practice providers with strong clinical skills, and an interest in academic medicine. The candidate will participate in clinical, educational, and quality improvement initiatives within the Division. Mastery of skills such as professionalism, team-based care, care of children with medical complexity, and effective communication are mandatory.The Division is currently made up of more than 40 physicians and 6 hospital medicine fellows.The clinical practice occurs within our tertiary care facility described and within our CMH community site, which is also included below.Childrens Mercy Hospital (Adele Hall Campus) is an urban, tertiary care/academic childrens hospital with full pediatric medical/surgical support. This role would include 24/7 direct care on a hospitalist-only team comprised of medically complex and diverse general pediatric patients. Fellows, medical students, and residents on elective may be part of the team.Childrens Mercy Kansas is a unique, free-standing community childrens hospital located 12 miles southwest of Childrens Mercy Hospital. The hospital serves a breadth of pediatric diagnoses with lower acuity than our main campus. Clinical service on this campus offers a complementary clinical experience, featuring a professionally stimulating, direct interaction with pediatric professionals in our busy on-site pediatric emergency department, as well as in our community referral area.Advanced Practice Registered Nurses II (APRN-II) provides proficient, comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. An APRN II obtains a comprehensive health history; performs physical examination; formulates a plan of care and treatment; prescribes/performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and procedures; and participates in patient and family education.
