Position: Data ModelerLocation: Spring TX - 77384 (5 Days Onsite every week at client location, No Option for Remote, From Day 1 Onsite Joining is Required)Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Overview: We are seeking a Data Modeler to lead the data modeling efforts for a large-scale data migration project from Oracle to Snowflake. The ideal candidate will conduct due diligence, facilitate discovery sessions, and support the project team in designing and implementing effective data models for 93 applications.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct due diligence to assess existing data models, structures, and relationships within the Oracle database.Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data usage across applications.Design and develop logical and physical data models for the Snowflake environment, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Collaborate with data analysts and architects to define data transformation rules and mapping strategies.Create and maintain documentation for data models, including entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.Ensure data models adhere to best practices for performance, scalability, and data integrity.Identify and resolve data modeling issues and inconsistencies throughout the migration process.Provide guidance and support to the project team in implementing data models and validating migrated data.Communicate data modeling concepts and project updates to stakeholders and management effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree of Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Proven experience as a Data Modeler, particularly in data migration or transformation projects.Strong expertise in Oracle databases and familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehousing solutions.Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, Lucidchart) and SQL.Excellent analytical skills with a strong understanding of data architecture principles.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.Experience with data governance and best practices in data modeling is a plus.
