Must-Have Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst (Not Business Analyst)

Ability to perform knowledge elicitation, data analysis skills, translating technical materials, process documentation, etc

Proven experience in large software project implementations for large enterprise companies OR utilities companies

Can articulate successful management of project life cycles from planning to execution and delivery

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with stakeholders and present technical information clearly.

Nice to Have Skills:

In-depth knowledge of CA ISO market mechanisms, trading practices, and regulatory compliance and familiarity with CA ISO market operations, including day-ahead and real-time market processes

Lead experience

Experience working with some of the following technologies -

PCI

AON / OpenLink Financial (Endur ETRM platform)

OATI (WebTrader, OASIS, WebAccounting)

Itron (MetrixIDR)

Power Settlements

Soft Skills:

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

Engage with traders, market operations teams, and regulatory compliance officers to gather and document requirements related to utility energy trading and CA ISO EDAM operations.

Conduct workshops, interviews, and documentation reviews to capture detailed functional and technical requirements.

Analyze existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and alignment with CA ISO EDAM market rules.

System Design and Implementation:

Develop detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and process models for enhancements to systems and CA ISO EDAM interfaces.

Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to design, develop, and implement system modifications and new features

Ensure that all system changes adhere to CA ISO regulations and best practices for energy trading operations.

Stakeholder Management:

Serve as the main liaison between utility trading departments, CA ISO, and IT teams to facilitate clear and effective communication.

Provide regular updates on project progress, potential risks, and issue resolution to stakeholders at various levels.

Process Improvement:

Produce and maintain clear and detailed documentation for system processes, configurations, and trading procedures.

Identify inefficiencies in processes and develop solutions to streamline operations and enhance system performance.

Propose and implement best practices for managing CA ISO interactions and optimizing energy trading strategies.

Education:

Bachelors Degree
