Job Description

We are looking for a Power BI Developer who is skilled in SQL and has experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.

We are seeking a dedicated Power BI Developer to join our team and play a crucial role in sustaining business intelligence operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting performance measures, developing and maintaining reports, and ensuring seamless integration of various data sources into our BI systems.

This position will be full-time and onsite.

What You'll Do

Modify and validate existing automated performance measures to ensure accuracy and incorporation of the latest fiscal year data

Minimize disruptions during the migration of financial data from legacy systems to the new Peoplesoft Enterprise Data Warehouse

Design and implement new performance measures as needed to support various projects and programs

Integrate data from financial management, human capital applications, Maximo, Nextfare, and other source systems into cohesive datasets for BI use

Create and maintain strategy management application measures

Migrate performance measures to updated software versions during Cognos, Tableau, and PowerBI upgrades

Recommend new measures based on industry best practices and available data

Enhance current Dashboard pages and recommend new pages and portlet types

Maintain comprehensive documentation for all processes, modifications, and developments supporting BI operations

Update IT documentation to reflect the latest security authorizations and process changes

Document DMSS Operations required data calls and related documentation

Define data requirements, assess data sources, and develop data marts or warehouse enhancements

Implement ETL scripts, construct consumable data sets, and perform necessary testing

Design and develop dashboards, reports, and analytic products, including GIS data visualization

Support end-to-end development of new BI services

Maintain and enhance existing BI infrastructure and provide user training

Architect and implement new BI tool environments and support post-implementation activities

Assist in data governance process design and perform customer outreach and training

What You'll Need

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field

Expertise in Microsoft Power BI development and deployment

Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling within Power BI

Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server

Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and processes, specifically with DataStage and SSIS

Experience with BI tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, Tableau, SPSS, and other analytics platforms

Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices

Understanding of high availability architecture and cloud-hosted solutions, especially Microsoft Azure

Ability to customize reports with JavaScript and SQL for tools like Cognos.

Experience with data governance and data quality management

Preferred:

Certifications in Power BI or other relevant BI tools are highly desirable

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
