**IT Network & Support Specialist - Growing Company!!!**Houston, TX **JOB DESCRIPTION****Job Title:**IT Network and Support Specialist**Department:**Admin**Reports To:**Director of IT**FLSA Status:**Exempt**Position Summary**This position will provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or electronically. This individual will also provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.**Essential Duties*** Advanced desktop support Advanced desktop support including (but is not limited to) the following areas:+ Diagnose and resolve problems associated with applications (EMR, EPM, other clinical applications, Microsoft Office, antivirus etc.)+ Virus/spyware detection and removal+ Hardware troubleshooting, including various types of peripherals.+ BIOS-level configuration and troubleshooting.+ Printer troubleshooting* Helpdesk Monitoring Teams with Systems Administrator 1 with the following tasks:+ Monitors helpdesk queue for incoming IT tickets+ Manages user access rights by creating, managing and disabling user accounts in Active Directory and company applications.+ (Re)Builds computers per standard image.+ Provides initial end-user computer support for issues relating to the computer, network access or standard applications. Support may be remote or on-site.+ Escalates tickets as necessary for additional support.+ Ensures asset inventory is being maintained.* Proactive Systems Management Will apply knowledge of the computing environment to suggest areas of improvement for the Practice, specifically in areas where IT can be more proactive and enhance our users experience.* Antivirus (AV) client administration Manages the antivirus platform Practice-wide for the computer environment as well as the server environment (with support from senior Administrators). May work with senior-level administrators with the selection and configuration of future AV solutions.* Backup/Restore administration Monitoring daily backup results and may apply changes to the backup environment, through vender.* Email client administration Supports more advanced features of the Outlook client.* Active Directory (AD) administration Ensures that the users, groups and computer objects within Active Directory are being handled correctly by the Systems Administrator I. Manages security and distribution groups to reflect accuracy and minimize redundancy and errors.* Oversee the daily performance of network, computer systems and equipment.* Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.* Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design and installation specifications.* Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, or installation activities in ticketing system.* Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.* Assist other departments with IT tasks, as requested.* Must be available onsite during normal business hours.* Must be available to be on-call for remote support escalations.* Must have reliable transportation to local travel in Houston metro area (mileage reimbursed).* Excellent verbal and written communication skills**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**Previous experience as a network or systems administrator3 to 5 years related experience and/or trainingProfessional, calm and courteous demeanorStrong sense of customer serviceStrong organizational and interpersonal skills required**JOB CODE: Admin**
