Model Based System Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Working as a DCS employee co-located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, you will work alongside the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center customer and be rewarded with a technically challenging and diverse career in the areas of manned & unmanned ground vehicles, robotics, vehicle electronics, and ground vehicle simulation.
Essential Job Functions:
Apply engineering skills in multi-disciplinary research projects for ground combat vehicles, where knowledge and experience in embedded systems development and integration, computer vision, machine learning, autonomous navigation, and other related subjects will be leveraged to support optionally manned systems development and testing for DoD S&T communities.
Direct customer contact and relationship management are extremely important; therefore, candidate should be personable, knowledgeable, and an excellent communicator.
Candidate will have demonstrated experience in embedded systems development, including various engineering processes, methodologies, and development lifecycles in the creation of vehicle system/subsystem architectures.
Position may require the candidate to lead programs or sub-project and interact with the clients to comprehend and decompose complicated platform requirements into structured and manageable engineering components across multiple engineering disciplines.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in related engineering or science discipline and 12 years of experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering such as SysML, DoDAF, and UPDM.
Demonstrated experience with military electronics systems, subsystem and system-level testing and integration, and leadership responsibilities in a large project or effort.
Experience with Deterministic and Non-Deterministic Data Bus Architectures, i.e., CAN Bus, Ethernet, etc.
Ability to perform Functional Decomposition and Capability Development methods to develop new architectures.
Integrate and develop data networks that cross multiple layers of information security (Classified/Unclassified).
Develop and execute system-level project plans.
Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM Rational Doors.
Proficient in communicating with technical engineering managers, system/software architects, software developers, and non-technical program managers, end users, and military leadership.
Desired Skills:
Process development and improvement management (CMMI).
Knowledge of legacy military hardware and software systems.
Familiarity with Time Sensitive Network.
