Epsilon Systems has a current opening for a full time Tank Cleaner I in Portsmouth, VA.

Position Summary

Performs bilge maintenance, pumping, cleaning and preparation for gas free certification of tanks, voids, cofferdams, inaccessible areas, bilges and other compartments located on U.S. Navy vessels. Assists with conducting pumping operations, closing checkpoints, cleaning and setup/breakdown of all equipment associated with Bilge Maintenance and Tank Cleaning operations. Provides various services to the customer in regards to cleanliness, gas free certification and pumping operations.

Responsibilities:

Strictly adheres to corporate, federal, state and local safety/OSHA regulations.Ensures that all Epsilon Systems MRG Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn and that all damaged PPE is discarded.Ensures all tools listed on the "Required Tools List" are available for use within two weeks of your employment. Equipment other than those required by the "Required Tool List" maybe checked out from the Tool Room. All tools checked out from the Tool Room are your financial responsibility. Returns tools/equipment to proper location and reports any lost, missing, stolen or damaged items to the Facilities Senior Specialist in accordance with Process Instruction.Ensures that all requirements of the Epsilon Systems MRG Quality Assurance Manual are followed.Ensures control and assumes responsibility for Level-1 material controls in accordance with Epsilon Systems MRG Instructions.Follows detailed repair procedures and instructions (e.g.; QA Workbooks, Work packages steps, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, TGIs etc.) required to complete the production operations.Notifies Specialist or Foreman of any unsatisfactory condition(s) identified during the production operation (i.e.; repair, modification, etc.).Maintains good housekeeping practices; turns off machines when not in use, disposes of waste properly, sweeps the area, etc.Performs bilge maintenance cleaning/pumping operations, general pumping operations, tank/void cleaning, general housekeeping, gas free certification preparation and pumping to include but is not limited to bilges, tanks, voids, berms, pier services, various compartments, trunks, offices, spaces, heads, urinals and other containers that may contain fluids that are undesirable to the customer or for retention for the customer's intent to re-use. Fluids to pump include but are not limited to fresh water, potable water, contaminated seawater, compensating seawater, seawater, chill water, oily waste, oil, fuel (JP-5, DFM or equivalent), greywater, blackwater, and neutralized chlorine water.Performs equipment troubleshooting to diagnose problems and report to the Specialist or Foreman.Follows and executes work packages, specification items or system alterations (e.g.; TEMPALTs, SHIPALTs, ORDALTs, etc.) IAW the directives (i.e.; instructions, drawings, Technical Manuals, MILSPECs, etc.).Tank Cleaner I Requirements:

High school diploma/GED.1-3 years' on-site experience.Ability to follow basic functions to include hose setups, air connections, tank/void cleaning and bilge cleaning/pumping and tank/void watch to include frack tank/tanker truck watch.Must be able to climb ladder wells, enter tanks/voids and other confined spaces and take direction from superiors.Must be able to traverse multiple classes of U.S. Navy warships to include ladder wells, tight compartments, tanks, voids, bilges and heights exceeding 4'.Must be able to be tank/void watch and fire watch qualified within first 2 weeks of employment.Able to obtain access to military installations and private shipyards.ADA:

Involves reaching with arms, stretching, crawling, heavy lifting, frequent stooping or bending and possible working assignments in overhead structures, confined spaces or beneath machinery in hot or cold conditions.
