[Apprentice Plumber and Pipefitter

[Are you ready to join a highly skilled trade that is in high demand? Trained and experienced commercial plumbers and pipefitters are the backbone of commercial construction, and they have the potential to earn high wages while working a traditional work week. QuesTec Mechanical invests in our community through offering an accredited and DOL registered apprenticeship program with a strong history of graduating talented workers who make a difference in the workforce!

[About our Apprentice Program [Our program is a four-year, tuition-free program and teaches all aspects of the plumbing and pipefitting trades. Our apprenticeship program combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction which teaches apprentices the practical and hands-on aspects of highly skilled occupations while receiving a free education. Our instructors are trade professionals with real world experience who can apply their own careers in the education process. Apprentices work full time for QuesTec, Monday through Friday, and attend class twice monthly.**

Attend Apprenticeship classes twice a monthLearn and assist in fabricating, assembling, installing, repairing, or replacing plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and control used to transport water, waste, gases, or hot liquidsWork in cooperation with all co-workers as well as other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, building codes (local and state), safety regulations, and legal requirements are metAccept directions and guidance from QuesTec journeymen, foremen, and field supervisorEnsure efficient completion of all projects, being aware of productivity at all timesPerform manual labor tasks that prepare the work area for construction

Must be 18 years old and have their high school diploma or GEDValid drivers license and reliable, daily transportationWilling to travel to a variety of commercial job sites within a reasonable radius of home addressExposure to construction trades or shop classes/trade school is preferredExperience doing manual labor and working outdoorsAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively and respectfullyWillingness to obtain OSHA 10 upon hire

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 35 pounds on ownAbility to push, pull, carry, and maneuver heavy items (with additional manpower or appropriate tools)Ability to withstand long periods of standing, squatting, stooping, and crawling (stationary positions up to 50% of time)Ability to feel, grasp, operate and position items with fingers and handsAbility to effectively perform work at ground level, above ground level, below ground level and in confined spaces such as pipe shafts, crawl spaces, tunnels, and basins
