Job Description
Our Chesapeake, VA team supporting the Military Sealift Command (MSC) has an immediate need for a US Navy IT Technician 1 with demonstrated experience providing tier 2/3 infrastructure support for enterprise-level networks comprised of US Navy Program of Record (POR) systems, including COMPOSE, CANEs, ADNS, GCCS, CENTRIXS, and CND. Primary responsibilities include:
•Troubleshoot and analyze issues to help determine and execute repair activities that will return equipment, systems, or networks to operational status•Respond to and update trouble calls using the Remedy ticketing system•Serve as team member for installation of new systems or upgrades to existing systems•Work with shipboard personnel and/or other network support vendors to resolve shipboard ADP/IT network issues•Provide input to, and/or generate and submit, daily work reports
Job Requirements
•Must possess an IAT II-level security certification as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M•Must have at least 1 year of progressive IT experience•Must be available to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations•Must possess knowledge and/or skill in building, deploying, and/or providing tier 2/3 support in at least one of the following systems: CANEs, ADNS, COMPOSE 4.0.x, GCCS 4.1.1.2, CENTRIXS Block 0/1/2, and/or CND systems•Must possess knowledge and/or skill in some or all of the following areas: enterprise-level tier 2/3 computer network support, server virtualization software (VMWare or Microsoft Hyper-V) usage, workstation image deployment, Microsoft Active Directory user and group administration, TMG, IAV patching, CTO/EXORD/OPORD implementation, HBSS configuration, WSUS configuration, Naval Fleet NOC engagement
