CDL Class A Transfer Driver CLT

Experience 2 years Location Charlotte Job DescriptionTo drive a tractor trailer to move product to outlying dock locations throughout the state, and to empty trailers at selected dock. All work must be completed in a safe and timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations.Responsibilities* Perform all pre-trip responsibilities, including inspecting truck and load* Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries* Deliver product to outlying dock locations, obtain signatures and complete all paperwork* Accept returns from customers or dock, complete required paperwork and return product to warehouse. Place product in return area with appropriate documentation* Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate. Inform supervisor of outstanding issues* Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and report all maintenance problems to supervisorQualificationsREQUIRED* High School Diploma or GED* Must be 21 or older* Must have a valid Commercial Drivers License Class A* Must have a clean driving record* Ability to lift up to 100lbs* Ability to use mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) device* Excellent Customer Service skills* Must be a team player and work well with minimum supervision* Knowledge of safe work practices* Ability to work in a warehouse environment in all types of weather* Ability to drive throughout assigned route in all kinds of weather and road conditions* Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environmentPREFERRED* Previous CDL truck driving experience* Ability to work flexible hours* Experience with a material handling equipment (i.e. hand truck, dolly, pallet jack)
