The CSSM is responsible for managing sales of the designated technology sales portfolio and achieving the sales goals outlined for the group. The CSSM is expected to build an annual sales plan and have input on operational costs. The CSSM will oversee the go-to-market strategies and work with the technology product managers on existing products inside of the portfolio. The CSSM will also assist the Director of Commercial Software with Business Development efforts in strategic target segments. The CSSM is expected to consult with distribution to evaluate current customers business practices and make strategic recommendations to the customer about the integration of Patterson technologies with their current practice systems capabilities.**Responsibilities:*** Management The CSSM will oversee the management/leadership group who handles the day-to-day activities of the TS field-based team and ISR team based out of the Patterson Technology Center (PTC). This includes being involved with PVS HR requirements, individual sales achievement plans and recommendations on job duties, discipline and hiring. The CSSM will carry out regular reviews and establish reporting requirements.* Product and market knowledge The CSSM is expected to have extensive knowledge of the veterinary technology market especially in regard to all competitors of Patterson technology offerings. The CSSM will maintain a competitive grid of the market place including pricing and product feature sets. The CSSM will work with Director of Commercial Software and product team on pricing strategy and go-to-market strategies for technology portfolio offerings.* Reporting the CSSM will complete all activity and sale reports as required by the Director of Commercial Software. The CSSM will oversee the sales reporting system and its integration into the Patterson enterprise as well as establish short-term and long-term metrics for departmental goals.* Sales planning The CSSM will help complete an annual sales plan for commercial software products, establish sales goals, work on the team compensation plan, create an annual sale plan to accomplish final budget goals and track the sales plan monthly to budget and forecast expectations.* Operational planning The CSSM will be responsible for successful technology sales operations. This includes sales, order fulfillment, installation, training, HR and support as they relate to the product sales team. The CSSM is expected to successfully work with their counterpart in other PVS departments to ensure these operations are successful.* Comp plans, pricing and promotions The CSSM is expected to design and monitor compensation plans with the HR and technology team, work to understand product margins and conditions to set product pricing and comprehend financial margins to help set product promotional pricing.* Work with distribution sales A key component of success for the CSSM will be working with the distribution sales team. This includes successful relationships with Branch Managers, establishing protocols and requirements between the TS and TM teams, adding value to the distribution sales of PVS, the opening of new PVS accounts through technology sales and discovering the best added value methodology for the TS and TM teams to cooperate.* Work with marketing The CSSM will coordinate activities with the marketing department to ensure that technology sales and marketing goals are aligned. The CSSM will advise marketing on tactical considerations to increase qualified leads and marketing ROI for the technology portfolio.* Work with product managers The CSSM will work closely with product managers on the technology products in the sales portfolio to provide guidance and customer feedback. The CSSM is expected to advise the product managers on strategic developments to gain market advantages.* Business development- The CSSM will work with and advise the Director of Commercial Software on new business opportunities to the portfolio from the stance of driving business profits.* Professional development The CSSM will create and execute training and professional development plan for the Commercial Sales team.* Develops and maintains professional relationships with branch managers, territory managers, customers, vendors and other Company personnel.* Collaborate with the PTC to resolve software and service issues as necessary.* Coordinate and participate in, and support meetings and activities (technology events and marketing activities), as requested by the company.* Professionally represents the Company in accordance with company policies and procedures.* Attend Patterson Vet meetings including at the National and Branch level.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Qualifications*** Bachelors degree is preferred.* 7-10 years of sales experience or equivalent three years of work in the veterinary technology field preferred.* Five years of managerial experience.* Knowledge of the veterinary technology market.* Basic business budgeting and analytic skills.* Excellent presentation skills.* Outstanding problem-solving skills.* Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.* Strong user knowledge of MS Windows.* Strong working knowledge of at least one veterinary practice management and/or clinical software application (preferably IntraVet).* Prior experience in the use of and training of technology related veterinary products and equipment.* Knowledge of veterinary industry and general practices.* Knowledge of CRM system capabilities and advanced sales reporting.Minimum Compensation: $87,000.00Maximum Compensation: $132,400.00**Getting Hired**Were excited that youre interested in joining Patterson Companies.
