For more information visit: https://www.dignityhealth.org/arizona/locations/chandlerregionalLook for us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.Responsibilities:The Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering care to patients admitted to Neurosurgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center.Provides patient care within the scope of practice as set forth by the Arizona State Board of NursingObtains medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates differential diagnosis and establishes a treatment plan in collaboration with the treating physician and nursing staff.Orders and interprets laboratory and other diagnostic tests within scope of practice.Writes orders and prescribes medications, including controlled substances.Instructs and counsels patients and their family regarding the diagnosis, treatment plan and medications.Makes referrals to ancillary departments and outside agencies.Formulates discharge plan and works in collaboration with case management to ensure safe, timely discharge.Writes discharge prescriptions and educates patients on medications.Completes hospital and department documentation legibly, accurately and within designated timeframe.Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees. Qualifications:MINIMUMMaster's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required.3 years clinical experienceCurrent AZ RN licenseCurrent AZ Nurse Practitioner licenseNational Certification in a Nurse Practitioner specialty (ANP, ACNP, FNP)Current DEA certificateAmerican Heart Association BLSAmerican Heart Association ACLSCredentialed as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC required.PREFERRED1 year Experience as Neurosurgery NP preferred.
