Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction to join our team in Santa Rosa, CA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in our pre-construction phase, responsible for accurately estimating project costs and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation.Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure accurate cost estimates.Develop comprehensive bid proposals and pricing strategies to win projects while maintaining profitability.Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to perform accurate cost calculations and prepare bid documents.Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive and cost-effective estimates.Participate in bid review meetings, negotiations, and presentations with clients and stakeholders.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators as needed.What We Offer:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred).Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a focus on asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.Advanced proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or equivalent.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Proven track record of successfully bidding and winning heavy civil construction projects.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
