Position Summary
The Senior Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective use of key application systems through data analytics, project management, business process workflow optimization, applications development, and support. The candidate will conduct and coordinate a systematic process to analyze, design, test and implement information systems to meet the needs of the credit union. The Senior Systems Analyst will collaborate with various departments to enhance systems functionalities and contribute to the overall growth and efficiency of the credit union.

Location : 4875 Eisenhower Ave Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22304 (ONSITE position during Training period, Hybrid work schedule after successful completion of Training)

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with IT Manager and, if required, with the business stakeholders, vendors, and consultants to design and develop solutions and the successful testing, documentation and support of those solutions. Investigates packaged solutions to systems and programs for resolution of problems and enhancement opportunities.Collaborates with the IT Manager in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new applications, existing application upgrades and new application releases and participates in large group projects under the direction of an assigned Project Manager as appropriate.Perform system configuration for existing application systems supporting Credit Union business processes, including but not limited to, lending applications, core financial system, and host user interface system.Prepares detailed system requirements and assists in functional design solutions for new products/functionality and enhancements to existing products/functionality.Coordinates with the IT Manager on preparing and maintaining technical documentation including flow charts, use cases, functional specifications, data models, and user guides.Understands credit union data for data analytic purposes and reporting and visualizations using Tableau or Power BI.Provides problem resolution assistance for system deficiencies or errors and coordinates the prompt diagnosis and resolution of application system issues that have an impact on the production environment and document management of the Credit Union business departments.Provide support to the IT manager in coordinating application vendor/development team to resolve problems and trouble tickets. Maintains application performance and integrity during ongoing development, modification, and support processes.Provide support to end-user requests and assist in change management controls of the production environment. Closely works with the IT Manager building SQL scripts, maintaining application databases, and recovery processes and activities for the application of data.Able to generate automated jobs using the credit union job scheduler and ensure to setup of the auto jobs to upload required data files to all appropriate third-party vendors via the SFTP module.Should be able to create screen mockups to visualize requirements for SMEs and modify requirements accordingly.Project Management and Planning:
Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.Assists IT Manager to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders.Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.General Technical Support:
Assist in monitoring IT Help Desk and addressing Help Desk tickets.Assist in assigning access rights to users in accordance with established practices.Assist users in accessing network resources.Assist supervisor in providing training for end users as required.Assist supervisor in maintaining and updating IT Security, Change Management, and other reports.Assist the IT Department in Disaster Recovery planning and testing.Compliance:
Ensures compliance with Credit Union policies and regulations, including Information/Cyber Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery policies, and Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.Notifies the IT Manager upon recognition of potential violation of policies anywhere within the credit union.Education & Experience
Three years to five years of related work experience in systems application and design.Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in information technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates are not required, but would be considered.Understanding of Data Analytics Coding language (SQL, Java, XML, PowerShell), with 2 or more years of experience in Windows Server Monitoring Tools.CompTIA A+ Certification or Equivalent Experience and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) preferred.Experience using JasperSoft Reporting System, a plus.Corelation Keystone core banking system experience a plus.Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of credit union internal operations, financial operations, and regulations.Willingness to expand knowledge through personal reading, study, and research.Ability to work through adverse situations and make sound business decisions.Other Pertinent Information
Regular and satisfactory attendance required.Ability to provide after-hours and weekend support as required.Demonstrates the credit union's Core Values and Cultural Beliefs.Must maintain an acceptable personal credit history and be bondable.
Summary of Physical Demands:
Must be able to convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately; audibly and quickly. Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Use of hands to perform such tasks as computer typing, file maintenance, using telephones, ten key adding machines and related office equipment. Movements frequently and regularly require use of hands, wrists, arms, and fingers. Average, visual acuity required to prepare, read, and inspect documents and interpret information on a PC screen. Primarily sedentary office work utilizing computers and telephones. Some physical activity requiring lifting of small boxes/files (40 lbs. or less); crawling under desk to set-up equipment. Able to communicate in complex sentences; using proper vocabulary; read and comprehend at a moderate to high rate; ability to write complex sentences using proper punctuation, and grammar.
