Position Summary:

Under general direction, the Network Engineer - CMH Information Technology works as a member of a team to provide on-going maintenance and implementation of the Carle network infrastructure in the greater Peoria service area. Works independently on selected tasks and projects as assigned. Ensures stability, availability, reliability and security of the production network environment. Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various technical and non-technical factors. Perform daily problem resolution, preventive maintenance and performance tuning, all within best practice standards.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSAbility to understand, recommend, and implement LAN/WLAN/WAN functionality.Must have a good understanding of Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, VPN,VoIP and wireless systems as well as comfort with most common network concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for rapid and efficient day-to-day problem analysis and resolution techniques.

Coordinates WAN connections to remote sites to ensure proper integration with LAN environment.

Provides backup support to telecommunications and enterprise network projects.

Interfaces with present and potential customers, many of whom are a part of a very complex, integrated network that spans the Carle enterprise and external customers.

Responsible for implementing the strategies necessary to reach our objectives.

Provides leadership to Support Analysts on day to day network troubleshootingissues as it relates to desktop or telephone support.

Analyzes client requirements and recommends appropriate hardware and software solutions to optimize work flow and efficiency.

Be available outside of business hours to perform network tasks, as necessary
