With a commitment to excellence and a passion for innovation, Lynker leverages cutting-edge technologies and scientific expertise to support the creation and delivery of improved operational weather forecasts.As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, Lynker is seeking a talented Senior GIS Specialist and Engineer to join our team, in support of a long-term contract with NOAA.Responsibilities:Duties of the Senior GIS Specialist and Engineer will include the following:Performs GIS system capabilities analysis, installs, tests, and validates operational automation and communications software as specified by installation standards, manufacturer's guidance, and licensing terms.Develops, plans, and implements complex GIS applications software for the system users and operators.Presents GIS system and cartographic mapping elements.Coordinate and execute major data integration and data analysis projects facilitating in-house software products and Geographical Information Systems.Integrates GIS elements with other technology for marketing and web based communication.Responds to difficult inquiries from end-users, developers, contractors, and other customers regarding GIS requirements.Participates in the development, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the GIS software development and integration accuracy of GIS information is maintained.Maintains a broad knowledge of software engineering including GIS and a demonstrated ability to independently work on complex assignments.Ensures use of defined standards and processes that include formal documentation and code reviews for GIS software development.
Qualifications:The Senior GIS Specialist and Engineer should have the following:B.S. in Engineering, Information Technology, or computer science8+ years of experience in GIS software development and integration (Additional experience may besubstituted to meet the educational requirement).About LynkerLynker is a growing, employee owned, small business, specializing in professional, scientific and technical services.
