Overview:Primarily provides direct and indirect professional nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, surgical, and newborn patients. Additionally, may care for GYN and non-OB/GYN patients when not working in the Labor and Delivery setting and in times of peak overflow from other units.Qualifications:Required Education:Associate's degree. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.Effective 07/01/2018, all current employees are required to have Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN FHM) Intermediate or Advanced by 07/01/2019. New hires and transfers are required to have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced within one (1) year of hire or transfer if no previous training. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.Required Licensure/Certifications:?Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida?BLS from the American Heart Association?Within 6 months of hire or transfer ACLS through the American Heart Association?Within 6 months of hire or transfer Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)?STABLE (sugar, temp, airway, blood pressure, lab work, emotional support. Effective 07/01/2018, all current employees are required to have Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, Emotional support (STABLE) by 07/01/2019. New hires and transfers are required to have STABLE within 6 months of hire or transfer.
