Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery - Days$20,000 Sign-on Bonus EligibleHours - Monday-Friday, typically 6:45a-3:15p, unless scheduled to stay late for casesCall - 1 day/week (3:15p-7a) & approximately every 6th weekend (Sat/Sun 7a-7a)***Must be within a 1 hour response time for call.***Position Summary: Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance withapplicable scope and standardsof practice.Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment.Documents patient care given.Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate tocare team, physician, patient, and family.Detects change in patient status, reports toappropriate healthcare teammemberandutilizesresources as dictated by the acuity. Assigns priorities to the patient’s problems with highest priority given to problems that are most urgent and critical.Assistspatients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs.Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovidespatient/family educationappropriate toage, culture, condition, and circumstances.Insures completion of requests for diagnostic work and support services.Counts narcotics according to policy and procedure.Documents and marks “surgical site verification”.Knowledge in all areas of care provided to patients in the Ambulatory Care Unit.Knowledge in all areas of care specific tothe endoscopicpatients, including moderate sedation.Knowledgeinoperating endoscopic equipment.Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.Who We Are:People are our passion and purpose.Comeworkwhere you are appreciated for who you are not just what you can do. Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist, pharmacology exam, and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific unit.Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice. Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided on assigned units asrequiredwith leadership qualities.
