About the Position
This is a part-time position. Performs semiskilled work transporting citizens to designated sites, assisting with boarding and exiting vehicle, collecting fees, maintaining the vehicle, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Transportation Program Supervisor.
Applicant must reside South of Marc Basnight bridge onlyJob Duties
Safely transports passengers to their destinations; assists with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed.Conducts regular walk-around safety, maintenance, and cleanliness inspections.Maintains accurate trip records.Occasionally assists with emergency operations.Performs other assigned dutiesPosition Qualifications
General knowledge of the principles and practices of operating and servicing vans.General knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing van operation.Skill and care in the operation of the equipment.Ability to deal tactfully with passengers; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment, dependability.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, and the public.
Education, Experience and Supplemental Information
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
