We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Respawn Entertainment. Reporting to a Technical director, you will help develop game software and mechanisms to support our gaming experiences. Responsibilities: Lead the development of game software using cutting-edge technology. Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to develop and refine important systems. Implement game features and systems that are both robust and scalable. Identify and resolve software defects and glitches to ensure game performance. Mentor junior engineers and help with their technical growth. Contribute to the improvement of internal tools and processes related to game development. Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high-quality code. Stay updated with the latest gaming technologies and trends. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience 15-20+ years of professional software development experience with 5+ years of experience in game development with a portfolio showcasing previously shipped games. Experience as a Technical Lead Proficiency in C++ and other programming languages. Expertise in at least one area of game development, a.k.a. gameplay, game engine, rendering, tools, online services, etc. Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
