Tax Manager

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager/Supervisor. In this role, yo will be responsible for the preparation of federal and state income taxes and related provisions. You will work closely with external tax preparers and collaborate with the Tax Senior Manager on various tax-related projects. Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the annual income tax return process, including quarterly interim procedures, composite filings, extensions, and coordination with external consultants.Perform detailed reviews of federal, state, and joint venture income tax returns and related K-1s.Research federal and state tax implications and technical tax matters for existing and new locations.Prepare taxable income projections, investor estimates/distributions, and related notices.Manage state income tax matters, including reviewing state income and franchise tax filings, conducting state tax and nexus research, and liaising with state tax representatives.Oversee the tax compliance calendar, ensuring timely completion and compliance with all critical tax deadlines.Maintain and reconcile capital records and pass-through entity tax allocations.Manage state composite/withholding portals and the payment agent portal for various tax matters.Oversee the annual tangible property tax return process, coordinating with external consultants, managing timelines, and reviewing prepared returns.Review and reconcile tax attributes of fixed assets in the fixed asset software.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.CPA or equivalent qualification required.4 years of experience in public accounting or relevant industry tax accounting.Proficiency in accounting and fixed assets software.Advanced Excel skills, with experience handling large datasets.Strong presentation, reporting, and communication skills.Excellent organizational abilities and a results-driven approach.Vaco values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
the individual's skill sets, experience and training;licensure and certification requirements;office location and other geographic considerations;other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
