This position requires open availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.If you enjoy meeting new people, staying abreast of the latest happenings in the city, and providing brilliant, personalized service to guests, this job is for you!You are the face of the hotel and as the first person our guest meet it is your responsibility to always provide a welcoming and friendly smile along with your professionalism and eagerness to provide assistance and services to our guest.Specifically, the bellperson role will be responsible for;The ability to move luggage carts weighing up to 200lbs, the ability to lift and carry boxes/luggage up to 75lbs requiredFollow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all timesIs familiar with the layout of the hotel and memorize the preferred route for escorting guestsRooms the guest in accordance with hotel standardsProvides information to guests about the hotel facilities and servicesAssist guests checking in or out with their baggage, answering questions, making deliveriesRecognizes customers immediately with a warm and hospitable welcomeResponds to inquiries with accurate information regarding location specific features and servicesCoordinates with Guest Services staff regarding daily VIP arrivals and special guestsSpecifically, the shuttle van driver role will be responsible for;Connects with guests with a dynamic and engaging personalityResponds to guests' needs with urgency and follow-throughImpresses guests with prompt and professional serviceMaintain security of vehicles and vehicle keysHave advanced knowledge of the immediate physical location and surrounding areas of interest and activitiesMaintain the cleanliness of the drive and parking areasQualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old.Able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background checkValid driver's license with at least 3 years' driving experienceNo MAJOR violations (DUI, reckless driving, negligent homicide) in the past 7 yearsNo more than two MINOR violations in the past year (accident, speeding)No license suspension or revocation in the last 3 yearsMoves throughout entire hotel, both inside and outside, including lobby, front desk, guest rooms.Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of 8-hr shift.Ability to speak, hear, read, and comprehend instructions, both written and oral, in fluent English with ability to convey information and ideas clearly.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in the English language.Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and respond with a sense of urgency when necessary.Moves luggage weighing up to 100 lbs.Moves luggage carts weighing up to 500 lbs.Exposed to winter and summer temperature extremes.Positions self to raise, lower, and extend arms to perform essential job functions.Able to identify and respond to safety concerns and emergency situations.Houston Marriott Westchase Hotel and Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
