Job Description

ORC is seeking a full-time, exempt Right of Way Agent for projects Charlotte, NC. The agent will provide land acquisition services for federally funded road projects throughout the right-of-way project lifecycle in support of the Project Manager (PM), or members of the project team.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Ensuringcompliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and proceduresPerforming right-of-way acquisitions and/or relocationsper project guidelines and regulationsPreparingreal estate documentsPerforming basic property research for ownership and boundary informationCommunicatingwith property owners and their representatives for the acquisition of right of wayPerforminggeneral administrative / clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing legal documents, reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents for file management, verbal and written communications with customers; customer service and related functionsTrouble shooting customer complaints and issues

Skills:Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines, as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectivelyMust be responsible and have demonstrated organizational and planning skillsApproachable and good at interacting with diverse groups of peopleAnalytical, problem solver, and strong attention to detail and negotiation skillsAble to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writingAbility to work with a team and independently with minimal supervision

Minimum Requirements:Minimum of three(2)yearsof Right of Way experienceMust include working with OR within a state'sDepartment of Transportation

Active North Carolina Real Estate License

(License must be hung with ORC*)Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically:

Excel - able to add/delete rows and columns, sort and filter, search for data within a workbook and other basic formattingWord - must be able to format documents and letters, and track changes made to documents; must be able to upload documents into a shared online database, such as Dropbox or equivalentOutlook - create/maintain outlook calendar; effectively sort and organize outlook emails

Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systemsEnglish language proficientValid Driver's License

This role requires the employee to occasionally travel to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes.
