The Drosophila Genomics Resource Center (DGRC) at Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a Web developer to join its team. The DGRC is a dynamic and heavily used repository for Drosophila genomic (DNA vectors and clones) and cell lines that serves researchers worldwide.

Required
Bachelor's degree.WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
Experience with python programming and database concepts.Expertise in making the actual web pages, i.e. front-end development (HTML, CSS, JS) and web design.Perferred
Experience with unix development.Experience with Flask Web Development.Experience with Postgresql or other relational database systems.SKILLS
Required
Ability to read and write code in Python, HTML, CSS, and JS.Understanding of web standards and user experience (UX) and experience with git or comparable version control software.Well organized.Detail-orientedPossesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills.Works effectively with minimal supervision as part of a research team.Preferred
Ability to read and write code in Perl, expertise in HTML, CSS, and JS.Expertise in user experience and design.Additional Information
We have some flexibility with how to fit someone into this role. We could employ with someone more balanced and interested in focusing on developing their front-end skills.
Expected start date is September 15, 2024 or after.
