- The Foreman's function is to oversee and facilitate all aspects of on-site construction activities or projects. The Foreman will typically lead a crew of 1 to 20 persons and must have first-hand working knowledge of the elements required for execution of the various activities or projects. Involvement begins with pre-construction activities with the Superintendent and continues throughout project completion, contract closeout and warranty. We are a drug-free workplace, and you must consent to drug test and background check.Responsibilities:Takes direction from supervisor on dimensions to build and set forms.Selects, cuts, shapes, and assembles lumber and other structural units using manual and power tools.Builds concrete forms, pours, and finishes concrete, including steps and stairways.Assists in determining sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structures.Moves supplies, materials, and equipment from one area of project site to another either manually or using lifting/transferring equipment.Lifts, carries, and holds construction materials, tools, and supplies.May assist in grade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms as needed.Spreads concrete to specified depth using a concrete vibrator or hand tools.Levels, smooths, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed.Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel, broom, or hand trowel.Removes rough or defective spots from concrete with abrasive stone or grinder and then create a uniform finished surface.Patches holes with patching material.Mixes cement using hoe or concrete mixing machine as necessary.Willingness to clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.Operates hand and power tools.Knowledge of rigging, equipment, loader, and forklift experience.Industry standard tools required.Ability to work with other trades.Maintains awareness of safety rules and procedures.Identifies safety hazards and reports to project supervisors.Performs additional assignments at supervisor's direction.Regular, predictable attendance is required.Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
