Our expertise span multiple core segments of the heavy highway and bridge construction arena, across Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.Responsibilities:POSITION SUMMARY:The Jr. Estimator will provide and/or coordinate support services to the Sr. Estimator in the preparation of bids and proposals for large, complex work and all types of contracts.Bid setup, summary form data entry, and bid scheduling.Review and incorporate historical data from productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.Provide take off and technical support to senior estimating team members.Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.Visit proposed work locations to observe and document existing conditions.Heavy Bid maintenance (labor, crew, activity, and bid master codebooks)Solicit, document, and analyze subcontractor/vendors quotations.Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.Provide award related submittalsPerform vendor/subcontractor solicitations and assist in preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.Qualifications:Education and experience requirements include: 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related experience.Cost estimating curriculum preferred.Ability to work well in a team environment.General knowledge of OSHA standards is preferred.SOFTWARE SKILLS:Microsoft Office applicationsScheduling software/CPM (including Primavera and MS Project)Strong technical and proposal writing skillsFamiliarity with cloud-based software solutionsReports to:
