Application Engineer

New Iron is leading the search for an Application Engineer in the UK to deploy and support our client's process control and maintenance software.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses a strong analytical background, hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, familiarity with external sensors, and basic knowledge of SQL.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical application support on sensor and software integration on semiconductor customers and fabs.Coordinate with various cross-functional teams to develop and optimize data acquisitionWork with fab management and engineering on systems planning, improvement, and mechanisms that optimize quality and performanceConduct installation, training, and sensor maintenance on and off customer sites.Cultivate positive customer relationshipsClearly communicate customer needs/requirements to key partnersAnalyze data to detect process faults using advanced software tools.Identify process improvement opportunities through sensor technology and software solutions.Conduct product training and troubleshooting on-siteShould Have:

2-5+ years of experience in backend manufacturing processesDemonstrate specialized knowledge in back-end semiconductor manufacturing processes, including chip packaging or assembly processes.Proficiency in English (professional level minimum)Excellent communication skills for building strong customer relationshipsStrong adaptability to solve issues in the field with internal and external customersProficient in solving complex problems analyticallyExcellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical membersAbility to be on-call support, work effectively in a global work environment, and travel 30-50%, depending on the projectBachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, CS or related fieldWill make you competitive:

Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing or process control systems like FDC, APC, factory automation, SPC, RR Control, Tool maintenance, industrial engineeringApply manufacturing experience to contribute to process and equipment engineering aspects
