Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist operates advanced radiation therapy equipment, administers patient treatments according to physician prescriptions, and maintains detailed treatment records. The role requires adherence to radiation safety protocols, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operate CT/SIM, linear accelerators, and high-dose rate equipment.
Perform daily equipment checks and warm-ups.
Administer prescribed treatments, including patient setups, as directed by physicians.
Maintain accurate treatment records and manage patient schedules.
Create and utilize patient setup and immobilization devices.
Ensure patient safety and infection control through strict adherence to protocols.
Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and provide clear instructions to patients.
Demonstrate professionalism and deliver excellent patient care.
Qualifications:
California Certified Radiologic Technologist - Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certificate or equivalent certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong patient care skills.
Preferred:
California Fluoroscopy license (if applicable).
Experience with record and verify systems, multi-leaf collimators, and radiation therapy equipment (new graduates considered).
Compensation:
Salary: USD $77.88 – $89.13 / hr
