Who you are...Experience with Tax Provision, Tax Return, and Public Utility (preferred).Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.Strong analytical skills. Strong Excel skills.Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Ability to research accounting and tax issues independently and communicate conclusions effectively in both oral and written means.

What you'll be working on...Prepares and files consolidated federal and corresponding state tax returns.Compiles supporting financial statements, disclosures, and documents as it relates to current and deferred income taxes.Assists with state sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, excise tax, etc., in the company's and subsidiaries' tax jurisdictions.Performs tax research, develop resolutions and present findings to management.Prepares account reconciliations, including the timely investigation and resolution of discrepancies and reconciling items.Assists the Manager - Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance in the preparation of quarterly and annual subsidiary financial statements and state commission reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, federal/state-specific utility regulation, internal controls and Company policies and practices.Prepares journal entries and assists in analyzing financial results and variances, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Assists the Manager - Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision.Assists the Regulatory team in fulfilling rate case requests and analyses for filings and/or other tax reporting requirements.
