The Medical College of Wisconsin

is seeking a dedicated and experienced OB CRNA to join our community OB Anesthesiology practice. Expected to administer and monitor regional anesthesia and general anesthesia to OB patients at Froedtert West Bend Hospital under the supervision of Staff Anesthesiologists of the Medical College of Wisconsin.There are roughly 800 - 900 deliveries a year at Froedtert West Bend Hospital.Shifts:Shift 1 : 12 Hour Weeknight Shifts: 1900 - 0700Shift 2 : Weekend Coverage: Friday 1900 - Monday 0700

Weekend Coverage has the ability to be divided into shifts

ResponsibilitiesSupport the philosophy and policies and procedures of Froedtert West Bend Hospital and the Anesthesiology DepartmentPrepares for and places all required peripheral lines in patients prior to anesthesia under the direction and supervision of staff anesthesiologistsPerforms pre-admission testing interviews on patients prior to day or surgery as directedPerforms general and regional anesthetics under the direct supervision of staff anesthesiologistsKeeps accurate and complete anesthetic records for each patientMonitors annual CME requirements and attends continuing education seminarsNot responsible for code responses (Airways or IV) outside of OB department

QualificationsEducation and Professional RequirementsCRNA from an accredited institution with board certification in AnesthesiologyWisconsin licensure (or eligible for)Education Preferred: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing is required. Graduate of accredited Nurse Anesthetist school is required.Licensure Description: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). New hires and rehires after September 30, 2017 must possess and maintain an active Wisconsin State Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APBP). Incumbents in the position prior to September 30, 2017 will be required to obtain the APNP License. Staff within the 5 year recent graduate window of eligibility to apply for the APNP license will have 3 months to obtain a WI APNP license. Staff outside of the 5 year window of eligibility to apply will have 1 year to complete the pharmacology requirements and obtain a WI APNP license. National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification is required.Medicaid and Medicare (PECOS) enrollment is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
