Job Description:Job Description:Nebraska Game and Parks is seeking a graphic design specialist to assist our communications efforts and support the agency's goals and objectives under the direction of the Marketing & Advertising Manager/Assistant Division Administrator. This position will create eye-catching, engaging print and digital communications pieces that connect with both new audiences as well as our current customers and guests. The graphic design specialist will help produce effective, on-brand marketing, education and interpretive materials including but not limited to print or digital artwork, advertisements, infographics, video graphics, brochures, publications, banners, interpretive signage, logos and other materials. They will also assist with agency events and event preparation and the development and coordinating marketing projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:•Work closely with marketing manager on design projects to create effective communications print and digital pieces in a variety of formats•Assist with quick turn-around projects, including production of print pieces, banners, signs and related items•Work on long term projects and assist the entire Creative Team as needed.•Turn data, numbers, facts and processes into infographics, maps, flowcharts and other graphical representations.•Maintain the look and feel of the brand across all pieces•Assist marketing team with event needs and preparation•Collaborate with communications team on creative asset development, new media strategies and design process improvement•Stay up-to-date with new and emerging trends in marketing to keep Nebraska Game and Parks' communication materials and presence relevant to a variety of audiences•Maintain broad awareness of conservation and recreation related information and trends in design and marketing•Use Adobe Creative Suite for design

Requirements/ Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Vocational/Technical diploma or Associate Degree in journalism, communications, graphic design or related field plus one year of professional design and production experience. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.

Other:

Three design samples should be provided with the application.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

In-depth knowledge of graphic design and a strong understanding of best practices in print and digital design; knowledge of the printing process including pre-press. Skill and in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop, for graphic design and photo editing (video editing skill with Premier Pro a plus); ability to create visually compelling artwork in a variety of media types. Knowledge of marketing or communications principles and practices; basic writing, editing and proofreading skills. Experience with ArcGIS a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, navigate the production process, communicate effectively, organize and prioritize tasks, work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
