SUMMARY OF POSITION: We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for Newborn and Nursery care at Lancaster Medical Center. Responsible for direct care of newborns at the time of delivery, while rooming in with mothers after delivery, and when needed in the Acute Baby Nursery (Level 1). Clinicians in this role provide 24-hour in-house coverage (well-appointed call room available) to independently diagnose and treat acute illness as well as provide routine newborn inpatient care as part of a healthcare team. May order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays and prescribe. This position affords the opportunity to focus on research and education in health promotion and disease prevention. The ideal candidate would be experienced in leading teams in neonatal resuscitation, be skilled in providing acute and routine care for newborns, and have a desire to assist in administrative and clinical transition from Level 1 Nursery to Level 2 NICU. Must have up-to-date certifications in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner degree is required. NICU experience at a facility with Level 2 designation or higher is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Master's degree in NursingCurrently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the State of employmentBasic Life Support (BLS)Two years of experience as an RN is required.
