** Delivery/ Truck Driver****Job Category****:** Operations **Requisition Number****:** DELIV001411 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description*****Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:***Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readinessFollow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout tripsInspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessaryVisit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by lawContribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours workedAssist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyanceAdhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authoritiesAssist shipping and receiving loading and unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.Open bales, crates and other containers.Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.Assist in counting of physical inventory.Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.Prepare parcels for mailing.Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.Wear the proper safety equipment.***Required Knowledge & Skills:***Required two years of experience working as a driver with no legal or safety incidents on recordRequired DOT Medical CardEnthusiasm for our products and desire to deliver them safely and on timePossesses physical strength necessary to lift heavy boxes and crates and move them around the warehouse.Is capable of maintaining the stamina needed for long hours of physical labor.Must have strong work ethic; Professional attitude; ReliableExcellent communication skills to all levels of internal and external customersMust be well organized and a self-starterAbility to make decisions and be independentAttention to detail as well as accuracyQuick learner great at building relationshipsPossess strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to interact with employees and vendors in a professional mannerAbility to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelinessBasic Qualification & Requirements:High School Diploma or GED equivalentMinimum 2 year in Driver RolePreferred Qualifications & Requirements:Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipmentAdequate knowledge of warehouse data systemBenefit OpportunitiesWe offer a great place to work, and a competitive salary based on level of experience.
