Job DescriptionPerform conceptual and detail design services for physical, protection and control as well as cost estimates related to the development of new transmission and distribution substations, and the modification or expansion of existing substations. Must have experience performing all aspects associated with substation design including one line diagrams, three line diagrams, DC control schemes, secondary AC distribution, cable matrices, wiring diagrams, SCADA equipment specification, balance of plant, general arrangements, electrical elevations, foundation layout/design, lightning protection, grounding plans, conduit plans, buswork design, control house layouts/elevations and material lists.
RequirementsBSEE required from an ABET accredited university with an emphasis in power system related studiesThree (3) or more years of increasing engineering experience and responsibility in protection system design and physical substation design is preferredWorking knowledge of electrical substation physical layout and control housesWorking knowledge of electrical substation major equipment and auxiliary systemsWorking knowledge of protection and control design for electrical substationsWorking knowledge of load management, automated meter reading (AMR), distribution/transmission automation (SCADA) systems is a benefit but not requiredProfessional Engineer (P.E.) License is a benefit, must be able to obtain P.E. licenseEIT registered in good standing.Occasional travel to customer locations or remote training locations
