Alpert JFS is looking for a strong

Volunteer Coordinator

to help secure and maintain a high-quality team of volunteers to support the agency's programs. This position is responsible for all activities necessary to recruit, train, orient, supervise, and support volunteers for the various volunteer positions.

Volunteer Coordinator Essential Responsibilities:

Expand the agency's volunteer program, including the recruitment, placement, supervision, and support of volunteers, in collaboration with the Chief Clinical and Impact Officer.Conduct outreach to identify volunteers within the local community and recruit to support the needs of agency programs.Participate in building and maintaining relationships and partnerships with organizations and companies in the community to enhance the mission of Alpert JFS/Levine JRFS.Screen and interview volunteer candidates including walking through the on-boarding process.Participate in the development and implementation of programs, events, recognition and training which enhance the engagement and inspire service of the current volunteers.Collaborate with program directors to recruit, onboard, schedule, and support volunteers within their programs.Conduct Orientation and specific service training for volunteers.Coordinate engagement, recognition and volunteer events.Supervise volunteers as assigned and receive feedback from teams for ongoing training and development; recommend revisions of existing services and program enhancements, based on evaluation findings.Maintain documentation, records, forms and compliance database for volunteer program.Work with department heads to determine the need and standards of performance for Volunteer Services in the departments.Participates in creating new procedures, updating existing procedures, and ensuring accuracy of the Volunteer Manual.Obtain, maintain and disseminate data dealing with current trends, and provide monthly metrics of all volunteer activities, engagement and retention.Identify and outreach potential philanthropic volunteers to the organization to support the development and fundraising goals of the Agency.Participate in volunteer pantry programs on a weekly basis and with Residential programs when indicated.Partner with Marketing and Communications to create and coordinate volunteer campaigns and recognition events.Monitor outcome measures for a volunteer campaign or volunteer placements within the Agency.Develop a culture of volunteer leadership among volunteers and within the organization.Other Responsibilities as assigned.Requirements

Qualifications:

Associate degree required. Two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Associate degree (in addition to the requirements listed below).Three (3) years of experience relevant to working with volunteers and experience with a non-profit organization.Excellent presentation, public speaking and community relations skills.Excellent verbal and written skills.Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated cultural sensitivity.Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation were necessary for success.Eligible driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
