Supervise delivery of resident care provided by licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel while maintaining, or exceeding, HRA standards. Provides direct supervision of resident care staff including includes monitoring job performance, conducting associate performance evaluations, coaching and counseling associates and providing training and education.Essential Functions:Meet with each resident on a regular basis to provide health and wellness checks and answer any health-related questionsReview all resident information and complete an assessment of the resident prior to move-in, when changes in the resident's condition occur, and as required by residence policy and state regulationReview the resident's medical report prior to move-in to ensure that the residence can provide for the resident's individual needs and regulatory requirements have been fulfilledOrder medications and oversee the resident's medication schedule for residents receiving medication administration servicesEnsure proper documentation for medication assistance / administrationAssist the Dir. of Resident Care (DRC) or Dir. of Assisted Living (DAL) to develop and maintain an up-to-date individual service plan for each resident ensuring it's implementationMaintain ongoing communications with the resident, resident's family, and physician regarding the resident's medical needsCoordinate additional health services the resident may needAssist in coordinating resident transfer to and from a hospital or another facilityAssist with counseling residents and familiesBe on call for medical questions and resident emergencies as scheduledAssist in coordinating residents' dietary needs with the Director of Food & BeverageReview changes in residents' conditions with the DRC or DAL, Executive Director, and residents' physicianOversee and assist with training regarding residents' health and wellnessEnsure that all infection control guidelines are metMaintain residents' wellness filesFacilitate OSHA training and assist employees with OSHA complianceCoordinate state-required training with ED to ensure regulatory complianceThe ability to work in a safe and alert mannerThe ability to take ownership for associate's safety and the safety of the residentsMust disclose any medication that might impair associate's ability to perform the job safely or competently.Non-Essential Functions:Leads by example exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadershipEncourages teamwork and promotes company philosophyAttends required community meetings and participates Life Enrichment activities when ableCompletes a1ll required courses in adherence with HRA UniversityIs prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basisBecomes familiar and understands how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalentBecomes familiar and understands the steps for fire evacuationAll associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residentsQualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:Graduated from an accredited program for Registered Nurses and is currently registered in the state of this community.Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the state of this community.Training in the special needs of the cognitively impaired resident, i.e. Alzheimer and Dementia training with focus on Validation TherapyBasic CPR/first aid trainingOne additional year of experience with a long term facility in a licensed staff positionOne to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experienceOrganizational or management experience supervising others preferredAbility to respond during off-duty hours to questions and emergenciesExperience using Microsoft Office and Outlook software.
