Pattern Energy Groups corporate headquarters is in San Francisco.Responsibilities:Provide analytical support to the Operations group for all of Patterns fleet of operating assets including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs), including production, revenue, cost, and gross margin. Assist with business intelligence improvements within the Operations group, including design and testing. Prepare high quality materials, including strategic presentations, business performance summaries, key business risks and key trends to various audiences, including executive management and the Board.
Duties and Key AccountabilitiesSupport the group in the design, preparation and analysis of fleet performance reports of Operations KPIs for purposes of weekly, monthly, Executive, Board reporting, and other ad hoc Operational reportingIdentify, understand, analyze, and communicate key drivers of performance variance (particularly impacts to gross margin) to support the Operations group in identifying and implementing performance improvement strategiesWork closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), such as Meteorology, Asset Management, Field Operations, Energy Management, and Finance/Accounting to gain a solid understanding of the business through analysis, identifying key financial trends in our business to highlight areas of both risk and opportunitySupport various aspects of the annual budget and period reforecast processes including planning, execution, incorporating inputs from SMEs, and facilitating budget and reforecast review by the Operations group as well as executive management and the BoardEnsure production, revenue, cost, and gross margin budgets and reforecasts are accurately reflected in relevant corporate data systemsIn partnership with the Data Center of Excellence, improve the method in which data is collected and displayed for KPIs in the Operations group. Utilize Power BI, financial planning tools, Power Factors and other business intelligence tools to create data to support informed decision-making
Qualifications:Experience/Qualifications/Education RequiredBachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related field with at least 1-3 years of relevant work experience, ideally in the energy industryIntermediate to advanced analytical, statistical, and financial modelling skillsIntermediate project management skillsMinimum of 1 year in a financial analyst, market analyst, asset management, or financial planning role. Prior experience in power markets and experience creating and/or managing financial models is a plusIntermediate to advanced computer proficiency including Microsoft product suite, particularly Excel and PowerPointAdditional RequirementsSelf-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervisionHigh attention to detail, capable of performing complex analysis and presenting results in an independent and professional manner for an audience that routinely involves Executive Management and sometimes includes the Board of DirectorsAble to work seamlessly across a wide range of disciplines both within and outside the group and the Company to achieve project objectivesWork experience with both financial statements and financial models
