Hotel Group Sales Manager Job Description
Columbia Sussex Management is seeking a dynamic Hotel Group Sales Manager to join our team at the Greensboro Marriott Downtown in Greensboro, NC. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of proactive selling, solicitation, and relationship building. The hotel has 285 rooms, over 24,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a full-service restaurant, certified M-Club, and a full fitness facility.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain all markets of group segments through proposals, phone calls, outside calls, and site inspections.Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current, and potential clients.Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.Represent the hotel at trade shows.Requirements:2-3 years of hotel sales experience with a proven track record of booking business.Strong background in selling hotel rooms, F&B, catering, meeting rooms, and thorough knowledge of sales techniques.Ability to maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients.Must be able to work effectively with operations and sales teams.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Qualifications:Previous hotel sales experience required, Marriott experience preferred.Ability to move throughout the property to conduct site inspections.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent organizational and time management skills.
