Job Description

As this role is based out of our Manufacturing Facility in Forest City, North Carolina, we will focus on candidates who currently reside in this area.

GENERAL SUMMARY:The Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Plant I.T., supports all aspects of plant I.T. and O.T. infrastructure. Day-to-day primary responsibilities focus on manufacturing and distribution center systems uptime, incident tickets, user support, production systems operational support, system maintenance, and project-related tasks. Various job functions and responsibilities require working closely with enterprise I.T. engineering teams to plan, design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide infrastructure across multiple technologies, platforms, and product brands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate for this role requires a broad industrial and operations technology background with a wide range of I.T. knowledge in server, network, storage, and security principles. Strong hands-on experience, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities are required. This individual must be familiar with enterprise I.T. best practices and operations related to manufacturing and distribution industrial environments. Areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Engineer, implement, and manage complex server, endpoint hardware, network appliances, and system configuration in a global, multi-site enterprise environment.•Plan, manage, and communicate system maintenance activities.•Create and maintain documentation of all relevant specifications, systems, and procedures.•Assist management in providing direction and decision-making guidance to drive project and production support efforts.•Design, configure, and implement new technology solutions.•Gather and analyze customer requirements and design solutions that meet specifications.•Champion process documentation, operational improvements, and best practices•Assist management in task coordination and set priorities across teams to deliver solutions quickly and effectively.•On-call support and maintenance activities during business hours and off-business hours are required•Manage open requests and issues to ensure all work is delivered on time and in a high-quality manner.•Provide 24x7 support for planned and unplanned activities to minimize disruption to the business.•Work closely with management to create effective developmental plans for the infrastructure teams to continually improve the group's collective skillset and knowledge.•Build strong relationships with other key areas, including manufacturing, distribution, network, desktop, security, and applications, to drive efficiency across multiple teams.

Experience Required:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:•Minimum•Understanding of networking protocols, architectures, and technologies.•Knowledge of various cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud providers•Knowledge of Azure Conditional Access, MFA, and PIM•Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and test planning skills•Strong working knowledge of enterprise Microsoft applications, including SQL and IIS•Skilled in supporting Microsoft architecture, including O365 cloud technologies.•Knowledge and understanding of virtualization technologies.•Administration and technical skills with Microsoft Office 365, Intune, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive•Viewed as a technical SME in infrastructure analysis, design, and engineering.•Ability to serve as a technical mentor and guide others.•Flexible, positive, and team-oriented attitude•Ability to handle dynamic, high-pressure environments focusing on success and productivity.•Demonstrate excellent analytical abilities and critical thinking.•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with technical and business partners.•Strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities•Ability to provide innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.•Preferred•Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing and distribution automation systems (experience with packaging, picking, material handling, and shipping systems is a plus)•Working knowledge of Project Methodologies, ITIL concepts, and I.T. Workflow Solutions (ServiceNow and JIRA experience is a plus)•Knowledge of IBM/Lenovo xSeries hardware, Blade and Flex technology•Knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, VLANs (design, provisioning, and troubleshooting)•Working knowledge of system backup and recovery options (on-premises and hosted)•Strong working knowledge of SAN/NAS technologies (Cisco-based fabric experience is a plus)•Knowledge of information security disciplines in an enterprise client-server environment•Strong skills and understanding of Active Directory, AAD, and AAD Connect•Expert knowledge of modern Windows Server Operating Systems•Skills in scripting administrative tasks and an understanding of PowerShell•Strong working knowledge of VMWare VSphere and related technical components•Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS and interconnecting Cisco devices•Strong knowledge of SD-WAN concepts and applications•Experience configuring, deploying, administering, and troubleshooting next-gen firewalls (Fortinet experience is a plus)•Experience with industrial automation, IoT, O.T. (experience provisioning and segmenting according to best practice is a plus)•Experience with security assessment, auditing, penetration, and vulnerability testing tools (Tenable Nessus experience is a plus)•Advanced experience in hardware imaging, software management/delivery, and asset management•Expert knowledge of desktop, laptop, and mobile computing hardware•Expert knowledge of various network printing technologies, languages, protocols, and hosting methods (industrial and thermal printer experience is a plus)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:•Must be able to install, move, and uninstall infrastructure hardware, not exceeding 50 pounds.•In emergency situations, must be able to work extended hours, potentially up to 18 hours at a time.
