to join our multidisciplinary care team in Tacoma Washington.

Function :

Provide quality, evidence-based psychiatric services to children/adolescents suffering from mental illness or co-occurring disorders at our Children's Long-term Inpatient Program (CLIP) in Tacoma, WA. The ARNP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders, ensuring the highest quality of care and support for our residents. Serves as a member of an organization that welcomes, engages, and serves individuals with complex wellness needs.

Responsibilities:

Document electronically all relevant information regarding the consumer in the medical record/software systems including, but not limited to, evaluations, utilization reviews, prescriptions written, mental status assessments, treatment plans, etc., in accordance with the standard procedure for documentation.Prescribe and monitor medication. Provide direction to nursing staff regarding medications.Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment planning for clients.Provide consultation regarding assessment in the development of treatment plans.Provide consultation and/or treatment when appropriate for psychiatric emergencies.Provide consultation regarding individual and family treatment as requested.Make appropriate referrals regarding medical problems of consumers as appropriate.Support clinical records system and provide necessary documentation of medication and treatment as required.Conduct Mental Status Examination and psycho-social for admission protocol.Complete and document psychiatric evaluation of consumers as required.Review past psychiatric history and other pertinent data necessary for the formulation of the diagnosis and treatment services.Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.Comply with policies and procedures.Identify areas for improvement regarding safety, security, and risk reduction, and provide suggestions and recommendations to the Management Team.Provide direct services to CLR consumers in the form of psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric consultations, treatment planning, medication administration/adjustments, mental status assessments, supportive therapy and crisis intervention.Monitor clients for effects of psychotropic medications prescribed.Become part of a treatment team with nurses, other prescribers, case managers, support staff, clinicians' administration and management teams.Participate in stand-by prescriber flexibility with intakes of consumers.Participate in telephone on-call for the Pearl Youth Residence in collaboration with other providers.Ensure that all licenses, CME, certifications to practice as a prescriber of the State of Washington are current.In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsA master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing Practice with state certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or a Doctor of Psychiatric Nursing Practice degree.WA State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authorityNational Certification as Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.A current DEA number.Must apply to be credentialed with all Center contracted payors.Working knowledge of State and Federal laws and professional standards related to psychiatric treatment.Demonstrated ability to evaluate patients, set up and carry out an effective course of treatment utilizing the expertise of other clinical personnel with a minimum of direction.

While the position advertised is full-time, part-time status (minimum 0.4 FTE; minimum of 0.8 FTE is necessary for health/dental/vision/life insurance benefit eligibility though pro-rated CME/licensure/board certification reimbursement is available) is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
