Job Description

If you are a Materials Technician with experience in welding and weld operations looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! Based in our Chanhassen, MN location, you will perform daily destructive and nondestructive tests on a variety of components to support functions across the organization. You will use specialized equipment and techniques to analyze components and report results to our design, manufacturing, and quality team.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Inspecting welds to specified requirements for procedure and performance qualifications.Performing nondestructive and destructive tests of moderate complexity including visual inspections, microscopic examinations, hardness, tensile, x-ray fluorescence, digital radiography and computed tomography.Testing and analyzing electronic components, welds, metals, and plastics.Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings, industry standards, and internal specifications.Collaborating with key team members in choosing appropriate tests and methods.Reporting test results and communicating interpretations to stakeholders.Learning, developing, and applying new analysis and testing techniques.Supporting teammates in failure analysis, product testing, and metrology activities.Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need:

1800 hours of technical education or equivalentMinimum of zero (0) years of related experienceBasic understanding of welding, metallurgy, and material propertiesLegal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this positionPreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Current American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Various Materials and Mechanical testing techniques including metallographic sample preparation and microscopyCurrent ASNT-NDT CertificationsExperience with Microsoft Office
