Preconstruction Estimator- MEP

In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world's leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Construction Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You'll Do

You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

Create and submit well organized, high quality written estimates that account for project risksPrepare construction and installation estimates from feasibility studies, conceptual designs, preliminary designs, or detailed designsReview all project plans, specifications, take-offs, I&C, and documents to gain a full understanding of intended use of the estimateCollaborate with the design team and offer cost effective alternatesPrepare cost estimates for small- and large-scale jobsManage project from estimating/bidding, detailing, product purchasing, delivery, scheduling, installation, and construction administrationCalculate the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overhead and profit, and presenting a final priceDevelop accurate labor and material costs with accurate quantity take-offsMaintain strong working relationships with the design team, sub-contractors, sub-consultants, OEMs, and suppliersDevelop and maintain relationships with regional general contractors and end-users in multiple cities within the Central RegionCoordinate with Design Group construction teams as required to maintain current cost dataMake an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and teamThis role can be based out of our Fort Worth, Atlanta, Concord, or Sacramento offices and will require occasional travel for project visits or meetings.What You'll Bring

5+ years construction cost estimating experience focused on MEP estimating from conceptual stage through buyoutDemonstrated knowledge of estimating practices and procedures utilizing estimating softwarePrior experience utilizing on-screen takeoff or bluebeam and estimating databasesStrong understanding of CSI Estimating FormatPrior experience in gathering and utilizing historical cost information as well as a network of trusted MEP subcontractorsDemonstrated ability to work effectively and meet tight deadlines.Demonstrated ability to understand project schedulesDemonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projectsDemonstrated ability to work in teams and gather subcontractor input for optimizing project performanceA willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventionsExperience working on large commercial projects (both greenfield and brownfield/renovations)Experience with light industrial / manufacturing projects in, Food & Beverage or Life Sciences space would be a plusRead and understand construction, installation, and I&C documents: details and drawingsSelf-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Procore & Project)BS degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferredOur culture and commitment to our people is what sets us apart. The approximate pay range for this position is $110-$160K. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
