Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - GI Anesthesiology Division

The Medical College of Wisconsin

is seeking a

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

to join its Adult Anesthesiology Division. The successful candidate must possess the ability to provide high quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population, working directly under the supervision of our Adult Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated team of CAAs and certified nurse anesthetists.

Specifications:Preferred Experience: Previous CRNA experience in AnesthesiologyMinimum Education: Master's Degree or higher in NursingCandidates can be either a Certified Registered Nurse Anethetist or board eligible for certification as a CRNAMinimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience: adult healthcare; previous CRNA experienceWisconsin APNP licenseAHA BCLS and/or ACLS required

Responsibilities:Administer general and local anesthesiaMaintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibrationPrepare patients to be effectively monitoredMonitor patients under anesthesiaMake recommendations regarding anesthetic care plansPerform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure that they are recovering wellResponsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care.Provide direct patient care before, during and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality.Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviewsReview the complete patient medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient/family to ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure interviewsAdminister/order required diagnostic and laboratory testsWork with Anesthesiologists to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedureEmploy CPR or other emergency procedures as indicatedPerform varies administrative duties that might involve collecting medical records, conducting patient chart reviews, and following up with patients/families pre or post procedures
