Job Description:
Responsibilities:Strategy & Planning.Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the management team.Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.Perform network design and capacity planning.Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.Establish service-level agreements with business units.cquisition And Deployment:
Coordinate with business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems.Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific, and network products and services.Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.ssist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.Prepare scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.Operational Management:
Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and so on.Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining the network infrastructure.Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.Manage all operating systems and end-user software.Manage communications ([email, IM, ...]) and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, and local area networks.Manage servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with business needs and industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.Manage input/output fleet, including printers and scanners.Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.Perform network, server, and security audits.Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.dminister all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.Perform and test routine system backups and restores.nticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, input/output fleet, and workstations.
